300 calories over today, how should I get rid of them?

I'm 300 calories over my target today. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can shift them before bedtime?

Exercise! :) Go for a LONG walk or run. You'll burn it off no problem!
  • 40 minutes of dancing
  • 45min- 1 hr walk should do it. Good habit to have before bed anyways.

If you can't seem to get by the guilt...start walking...any kind of movement will help.

Have a safe and blessed Easter.

Any of the above posts. 300 over is still a deficit, so do not sweat it, but if you are go for a walk or do some other exercise.

Have you calculated your BMR and TDEE? If you keep it between those two, you are good.

If you are using MFP's calculator, you are more than likely still between these numbers. Just enjoy your life, and watch it again tomorrow.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have gone over the odd day and it never affected my weight loss, actually helped it.

Go for a walk, or make a note of it and stay 100 under for the next 3 days. Or just don't sweat it and eat maintenance today.

i hope this is a joke, but even suggesting something like this, is not appropriate for this site.

I'm 374 over and that's without my evening meal!! But it is Easter Sunday so I'm not worrying too much. Luckily I follow the Dukan Diet which now allows me (after following all the phases correctly,) two celebration meals a week. That means anything you like which includes a starter, main meal, dessert and a glass of wine! This is probably not helpful at all to you is it?!!!! Just thought I'd share!

I might hit the treadmill for half an hour later...then again, I probably won't! Haha!

I wouldn't sweat them. I have days where I go over, and other days where I'm well under. So long as I'm not doing it every day, and making it a huge deal, I don't worry.

He was asking a question - do him the courtesy of answering without giving really bad advice (whether in jest or not). For all you know, he could have taken your 'advice' and other people reading it also. If this was a joke it was in very poor taste.

I am serious. It's not as harmful as running, jogging or treadmill after a meal.

Either start moving or accept it and do better tomorrow! One day won't hurt you that badly. Trust me, I was off the rails for 4 days last week and went WAY over +300 each one of those days. 3 days later, I'm back within 1/2 lb of my lowest weight. Things happen, just don't give up because of it.

Also, remember that if you're set up to loose 1 lb per week, MFP is already putting you at a 500 cal per day deficit. So you're really still 200 cal under your "maintenance" calories.

You'll be fine if you decide to just let it be... but if it's bugging you that much, get up and get moving!

    Good luck. Jen

Don't stress about it, and if you are bothered just aim for 300cal less the next day, or make up for it with an extra long workout the day after. Weight doesn't pile on right away if you go over your cals, you can still make up for it the following day or 2.

Don't be guilty, take it as a learning experience (what did I eat wrong today that I can improve on tomorrow) and start again. Sweet as.

I am really confused now as to what you are trying to say.

Anyway, its terrible advice - you are basically encouraging bulimia. Which is contrary to the forum rules.
  • purging, enema and others mentioned are terrible advise... those are all unhealthy alternatives and teach eating disorder behaviors

I was not aware about such practice in bulimia. Sorry I say, if so is the case.
