Super Discouraged

Hello MFP community,
I'm feeling like poop this morning.
It was my first weigh in day. All week I've been working out at least twice a day, walking during my breaks, and tracking/staying within my allotted point values (I'm doing weight watchers). Then this morning, I weigh in... And my weight stayed the same. I didn't lose anything. I know I should feel glad that I didn't gain, but I'm not doing this to stay where I'm at. I want to lose weight. I want to make a change.
This is actually the second time this has happened. My first, first week this happened and I got so discouraged I wanted to quit. So I sorta did, for a week, and then I was ready to start again. I just cannot believe that after making the workout changes, and trying that much harder I still have not accomplished anything.
I'm going to pick up a tailor's tape measure today so I can start tracking my inches, and hopefully I'll be able to start seeing some changes there. But in the meantime, does anyone have any words of encouragement? I'm super bummed.
Thanks,
Taryn

I had the same problem when I did the new WW plan. It does get better when your body starts to adjust, but I didn't do well with the 0-point fruits... I just ate too much. It's always better to go for fruit than chips, but they still have calories. I think the best bet for me was combining WW with MFP. Because I think tracking calories is the most important tool for weight loss, but WW helps you figure out what to be eating when. Try logging your cals here, and your exercise. You may have to eat back some of your exercise calories too (still maintaining your goal deficit) so your body has enough fuel to keep going. Don't worry, it will get better! It's a marathon, not a sprint! Good luck!0

I think a big part of my problem is probably not eating enough fruits, honestly. We're living with roommates at the moment, and groceries are a HUGE issue for us. Buying fruits and vegetables to snack on never happens. It's extremely frustrating. I'm hoping that once they leave next month, I'll be able to start doing better and meeting all of my healthy checks each day.
And I have been using both. I find the combo of WW and MFP to be very helpful. It's funny cause I was just considering cutting out MFP as it is such a pain to track in 2 different places, but I think after your advice I'm going to keep going with the 2. Thanks for the encouragement.

I don't know much about Weight Watchers. I don't know about their "points" vs calories. Try tracking your calories also. MFP makes it SO easy to do that! Then maybe you will understand what your weight is doing.

Don't be surprised or discouraged at not losing any weight within one week! As many have said time and again, you didn't put on the weight overnight, so you won't lose it overnight! I'm a big fan of monthly weigh-ins - if you expect instant success you could be setting yourself up for failure. So keep at it, and don't give up after a week, or a month. It takes us approximately 1-2 months to learn a new habit, which will include eating and exercising habits. So if you give up after a week or two, you'll never even know if it was working for you!
Chin up, and stick around here as there's a ton of good info!0 -
I hear you, it's hard when you don't have control over your own groceries! When I started I thought the healthy checks didn't matter much - I figured it's more about calories than type of food - but it is true that they help you stay full. I had to force myself to drink more water and eat more fruits/veggies (but not so many bananas that it's equal to cookies!). It also helps if you take a fiber supplement... it helps me feel full. It is hard to not see results immediately though - I'm totally an instant gratification person - so you're on the right track with measuring and weighing in. Keep at it for a month and see how great you feel!0
