Proof that the scale is not your BFF...

I started doing the Jillian Michael's Body Revolution 30 days ago. I just completed the first Phase. The program consists of mostly circuit training and some cardio and comes with a food plan where she suggests you eat 1200 cals a day.

No way could I eat just 1200 cals a day and function like a normal human being. So I joined the Eat More to Weigh Less group and sought advice from those wonderful ladies.

I slowly increased my cals from 1400 cals to 1700 cals, with my macros set at 40/30/30.

While my weight has gone up and down over the last 30 days, I'm down 2 pounds overall from when I started the program.

A lousy 2 pounds!!!

BUT......I've lost inches!!!! I took my measurements on day 10 of the program and then today.

Here's what I lost:

Waist - 1.5 inches
Hips - 1.5 inches
Left thigh - .25 inches
Right thigh - nothing
Left calf - .5 inches
Right calf - .5 inches
Left bicep - .25 inches
Right bicep - .25 inches
Bust - 1 inch
Chest - nothing

So a total of 5.75 inches lost overall in just 30 days yet the scale barely moved.

The measuring tape is my new BFF.

Perfect definition of an NSV! :) Great job and keep it up. BTW- can you provide the link of the group you mentioned? I may need to seek some advice.

    ABSOLUTELY...
In my 20's, it was the pounds, now its the inches. I absolutely judge every day how I feel in my scrubs, workout clothes, and underware. I measure weekly, and it is invigorating. I let the battery die in the scale, and will not step on it until I have a mind set to accept it.

I also had tons of blood work done, and will have it redrawn in 60 days. Cholesterol was wacky but bad cholesterol was great...go figure.

Congratulations on your inches lost! WAY TO LOOSE

I love hearing this! I ditched my scale a while ago because I was relying on it too much. Sometimes I regret it and want to go out and buy another one, but this post makes me feel good that I did the right thing. If I want to weigh, I can do it at the gym.

Excellent Results and good job on practicing what you know to work....I am on week 2 of the JM Body Revolution and thank you for sharing your results looking forward to the 30 days...Also after 3 months into my journey...the more I worked out the higher my cals of eatiner were...I have always ate 60-80% of my workout cals back along with MFP Given.... This is very inspiring to hear that you can eat and lose.....If you know how and what to do it......

    Wishing you Continued Success!

I took "before" pics but haven't updated them as of yet. I may wait until after the next phase to do pics again!

Yes, on this program she does. It's meant to be for accelerated weight loss but I can't eat 1200 calories a day and be a happy person and I'm completely fine with a slower weight loss.
