Breastfeeding and calories?

After reading another thread here, I realized I haven't been considering breastfeeding with my daily calories! My 4 month old feeds regularly. Does anyone have any good articles about how many extra calories I should be consuming? Thanks!

You should be eating an extra 500 calories for exclusively breastfeeding0

Long and short of it...
You can find breast feeding under "food". Type in breast feeding. Last I checked, there is an option of -500 cals for babies who exclusively breast feed, and -300 for babies who eat other foods too.
This is approximate cause it's hard to tell exactly how much you are producing, unless you pump. If you do know exactly, then I think it's approx 25 calories per ounce you produce.
I use -300 for my 1 year old who BFs about 4-5 times a day.0 -
Thank you girls so much! This changes...everything! Back to planning!0
