My sodium count stays 2 pts below what the normal is . ARC will not let me give blood as they consider it to low for them...Doctor says I drink too many liquids to cut back...the point is I have hypertension so I try to control sodium input. I stay confused by both of them.0

I make it a point to stay under 1500 mg of sodium a day after carrying around 15 pounds in water weight and having severe edema in my legs, even doctor prescibed water pills wouldn't help. I started watching my sodium and dropped those 15 pounds in one week.0

Yes it does help. My ankles are not swollen anymore.0 -

Oh and I forgot to mention that my blood pressure is down from 155/95 to 110/75, so I think that too much sodium is not so good for my body!0 -
I'm always very low on my sodium levels too. To be honest I think it might be a good thing.
And I'm also very low on iron levels on here, but the thing is...I don't think that the iron levels have really been entered correctly, or have been entered for all of the foods on the database. I searched up for sources of iron in foods, (both in books, and on the internet) and to be honest, basically most, if not all fruit and veg has some iron in it. So as long as you're eating a variety of fruit, veg, leafy greens, and beans, you should be fine.

I have googled the average most amount should be around 2000 mg, I am never even close. Which is a good thing, sodium just slows your wt loss.0

If I don't get enough sodium I will die!
