Hi
I've always hated with a passion my legs, deep down I know they will never be really slim however hard I diet as I've always been like it....as a child... And even when I was underweight

I'm 5ft, uk size 10/12 and my calfs are 14", above knee 17" and thighs 23"

If I had the money I wouldn't think twice about liposuction :-)

That's about the size of my legs. Even when I was really tiny, my thighs were never smaller than 21 inches. My legs are also short. I suspect that, if your legs are like mine, even liposuction wouldn't do much to make them look tiny. Even with fairly low body fat I wouldn't have match stick legs unless someone hacked away at the muscle. When I was a teenager, I had a 23 inch waist and 21 inch thighs. Now, my thighs are still only about 4 inches smaller than my waist, and when I lose a little more weight, I suspect that it will come off my waist first.

I've made peace with them, and I think that when I'm fit, my legs actually look pretty good. They'll never be long, but they are curvy and, as my grandmother used to say, "shapely" rather than bony.

I've heard that if you take a supplement of white kidney bean extract it can help. I also have the fat leg syndrome :) i guess thats good because its not harmful fat its just a pain to get rid of. The extract is a natural carb blocker, and carbs are the main cause to fat in that area. Google it for more info. You can find it at any vitamin store.

I've learned to love them. I used to have fat legs but now with training I've made them almost solid muscle. And I'm proud of my thick legs. :)

I'm a member. I have a love/hate relationship with my legs/thighs. When I was bigger I absolutely hated them because they were never in proportion with my tiny little calves. They look better now but they're still pretty chunky. Going to start toning this summer so hopefully they will look better. I don't care about them being skinny, just as long as they aren't jiggly.

My legs have always been an embarrassment for me. I keep them covered, never wear shorts. They have always been big and as I lose weight, everything else will go .. from head to toe.. in that order.. but my legs will always be an embarrassment to me. When I was in college, at 5'8" I only weighed 135 lbs, but I always felt huge because of my big boobs, big hips and extremely big legs. Now I have 135 lbs to lose! If only I appreciated my body then, I wouldn't be needing to lose this much now!

I have legs like tree trunks...

But hopefully they'll be slimming down at some point.

It's pretty funny, but I'm 5'1", a US size 4/6, and my legs are about the same size as yours. For me, I'm just going to go for toning them, but I seriously doubt they'll get any smaller. That's okay too.

What a great point! I've been looking at photos of myself from 10 years ago when I thought I was "SO HUGE" and I realized that I could have gone either direction at that point. I could have slimmed down and been average, but I had already felt so far gone. How little did I know! Now I've packed on another 80-100lbs since then. In addition, I wasted so many years hating my body. No more! I accept my body as it is TODAY because this is the body I've got TODAY. Sure, I will be making improvements but I'm so so SO over the body hating crap. If you don't get to the point of loving yourself then you'll never think you're worth it. And WE.ARE.SO.WORTH.IT.

I hate my legs. I haven't worn shorts since I was maybe 7/8 years old. I was never really into exercising until this year and now that I have made it a regular thing (5x's a week) I have noticed my legs starting to slim down and getting more definition. So hopefully soon I will be able to love my legs and wear all the cute dresses I see in the stores.
