This is not quite the right forum for this, but it is about healthy bodies...

At any rate - I just read this disturbing factoid:

"By body weight, each of us carries around nearly four pounds of intestinal microflora."

EW! Of course if it died we'd be in trouble. Still... that's a lot!

I'm not so sure I want to keep doing research into this stuff... :wink:

    The cecum is a part of your bowl shaped like a little bowl, and some feces gets 'caught' there purposely to feed those intestinal bacteria. Bacteria have a bad rep, but you are correct that, without these microorganisms, we'd be in trouble--in the form of dead!
