Hi everyone,

My name is Rachel, and I have been using the iphone my fitness pal app for a few months now. Although I didn't find out about the website until today.

I just wanted to introduce myself here *hello*.

I gave up smoking 2 weeks ago (and still smoke free!) :D So with that I wanted to start getting healthy again, with exercise and watching what I eat as I didn't want to put on any extra weight. I was already 12 stone, and for being 5"7', my doctor said I should try eating more healthy and exercising more.

So here I am, taking it more seriously after becoming a non-smoker.

I'm really enjoying it so far, more so the exercising (it feels great.)

But what I really need is to talk to more people, get myself into the community and hopefully make some friends.

I had a bad day today, I've been exercising all week , and today was my day of not exercising, but I ate over my calorie intake and I'm feeling quite bad about it. I'll be excersing tomorrow, but I just need a few words of wisdom and support really. I know I shouldn't feel to bad and with excersing we need to eat more, but it's just not helping. :(

Sorry for the essay :P

Rachel Jade.

  • hello I hope you feel better and it often happens that one has a relapse I at least since I started to diet and exercise and not had any but the first time I suggest something and I follow the letter but is a matter of saying I can and I know you know you will get and what I believe in you and that you have sufficient forces to achieve your goal

Congrats on quitting smoking! I quit quite some time back myself and although I occasionally have a craving when I've had a few drinks, I've never been tempted to resume the habit. The earlier you kick it, the better.

My saviour? Lots of sugar-free chewing gum.

We all have off-days. Just get back up on that horse and don't beat yourself up too bad!
  • Cheers ladies,

It's the strangest thing though, quitting smoking was easy. I'm just shocked that 1) I didn't do it sooner. 2) It was easy, I keep thinking there is something wrong with me as every talks about how hard it is. I guess I really wanted to do it. I've had a few cravings but nothing bad, so I just do sit ups or weights and i'm fine.

The other thing is drinking, now that i'm eating healthy, I don't even want to drink as i'm on water all the time. Even at the weekend, I pour myself a drink, but I can't even finish it :S Definatly strange.

I'm not trying to boast or anything, I just find it weird.

But yeah I ate a little too much today *sad face* shall I just do a little bit more exercise tomorrow? I'm literally working out 5 times a week though so I don't really want to injure myself, and how long should I work out for, I normally do an 45 mins?

Sometimes all this healthy eating and working out confuses me, what to do and what not to do.

    Rachel
