I have wanted to lose weight for a long time but could not commit.
I am at a place today where i have no choice but to give losing weight my best effort.
Does anyone know what I am talking about?

I know exactly what you are talking about.
My doc told me that I could be dead by this time next year if I didn't start loosing weight now. She put me on the Mediteranian diet with a cal intake of 1500-1800 a day. I've been on the diet for just over 1 week and have already lost 2 lbs. Everyone tells me that is the right way and the healthiest amount to loose in a week. So far, I am very pleased with it. It didn't take me long to get used to eating less and I'm getting the hang of eating the right stuff too.
Keep up the effort! It may not be easy but it will be worth it 100%. Just think....you lose 8-10 lbs a month that's 96-120 lbs in one year. That's it!! If you think about it, it's not that long at all. Just try and think about what you did every day last year....probably coulda done some walking instaid of watching TV, huh.
Anyway, I find the hardest part is getting motivated to do the walking or even just cleaning house. I personaly like to put on my fav kinda music and dance around the house like a silly little girl. Not only is it fun but it burns the cals!!

Welcome Starr! It's not going to be easy everyday, but it's so much easier when you're accountable to this website because you have to be aware of what's going in your mouth. :grumble: I've personally found that the fun is in exercising more so I can enter it and see how many extra calories I can rack up so I can eat more. It might not be the point, but it's a healthy game. I'm working out!
