Hello

Hi everyone,

I'm new to MFP but not to weight loss. I first decided to finally stop wanting to lose weight and actually try to do it back in November. I started off at 360 lbs and want to lose 220 lbs. So far I'm down 37! I've been stuck around the same weight for the past six weeks or so because I was moving and stopped exercising and keeping an eye on what I'm eating. Plus, I've een having some problems with me feet recently. The podiatrist says I have plantar fasciitis as well as pain across the top left of my foot running from my ankle to the base of my toe. I've been told to stay off my feet so exercising has been tough but I've got an appointment at the biomechanics clinic for next weeks so hopefully I can get back to it. Either way, I've decided to get back to it and try to shed the pounds again.

I haven't tried to use a forum as a motivation tool so far because I'm really shy ad not so great at talking to new people. But I figured going through this with people who have the same goals as me would be better to keep me on track.

    Friend request sent.

I have plantar fascitis (sp?) also and I know how painful and tormenting it is. It feels like a catch-22 I know. It's caused by being overweight, yet you can't get exercise because your feet are in excruciating pain.

Losing weight is key, and we're here for you to help you get there.

Has your doctor recommended wearing a boot at night while you sleep? I forget the actual name of the device but I call it a boot. It looks about like one of those removable plastic casts and it works wonders for my feet. Although, I do hate putting it on, and it is awkward to wear in bed so I tend to suffer with the pain more than I need to.

Just curious if your Doctor has mentioned this to you. If not, you might ask him/her about it.

The podiatrist was going to give me orthotics but she's not sure what's causing the pain I have along my 4th metatarsal so she took the orthotics off of me and referred me to the biomechanics clinic. In the meantime, she gave me some exercises to stretch my achilles tendon and told me to wear my trainers all the time (which I hate doing). I'm seeing the specialist on Tuesday so hopefully I'll get some more help then because the exercises aren't really working.
