^Never introduced myself**
I joined a while ago, but now that I have an iTouch I've been a lot more active logging my intake, and a lot more active on the forums!
So, hello!I'll tell you a little about myself.
I'm an art student and I live in Southern California (near Disneyland!). I'm going off to college soon, hopefully out of state. I'm looking at the East Coast/New England area for Art Colleges, and I'm really nervous and excited at the same time!
I've been wanting to lose weight my whole life. In a recent forum post I mentioned that I was a chubby toddler, a fat child, and an obese pre-teen. Then about 2 years ago I really started TRYING to lose weight. Calorie counting was my best friend, and I lost a lot of weight. In the first year I lost almost half of what I wanted to, and in this last year I've been going through major plateaus that may have to do with some unfortunate disordered habits that developed.
Recently (as in, within the past week) I'd become fed up with my shot metabolism (I wasn't losing weight at an intake of around 500 calories a day) and I decided to man up and try and get my metabolism up and running again by eating what MFP suggests I consume to maintain my weight. Of course, I've gained a few pounds, but I'm slowly watching the scale drop again because I suppose my body's regulating, and it's nice to know that this way I'm dropping weight healthily, and I feel a lot better too.
So that's my story! It's great to be in such a welcoming and supportive community, I'd love some support and I want to make some friends on here, so please introduce yourself to me! I'm a really friendly person, I promise! (:

Hi!
What a busy, exciting time in your life!
With so many things changing, it's sometimes easy to fall back on old habits, but sometimes it also provides an opportunity to make even more changes.
Good luck!0 -
Thank you! It's really frustrating... but that's why the support on this website is so fantastic. I hope I can meet some people who are in a similar position or have similar stats to me, that'll really help keep me on track!0

By the way, that's an impressive weight loss you've already done!
I bet there are some groups here for students. (If you'll be living in a dorm, that presents a special set of challenges.)0 -
Thank you! Yeah, I know it will be.
Right now I get home from school at 5pm, and with homework it's hard to work out even now... but I'm going to try and do more. I love walking, and every day I do push ups and jumping jacks, but it's not much!0
