Muscle question (not the one you might think)

Ok, so I have been dieting since I was like 16, I have been to nutritionist's and doctor's of all sorts that say my bmi and weight need to be in a healthy range etc etc...

So my question is, I have a friend who is the same weight as me but shorter (I think she is 5'2) she weighs 220lbs, which she tells everyone. Anyways she says her doctor told her she can't lose weight because she doesn't have a high body fat percentage, but her BMI is 40.2. As far as I can tell she eats very unhealthy (she loves to cook lol) and doesn't exercise she always has different reasons as to why she can't. I am wondering if that is possible to be muscular and be told not to lose weight by a professional when she is unhealthy? I am not saying she is lying but I have never heard of that before and thought maybe someone here has and can explain it to me.

    5'2" - 220lbs and she can't lose weight because she doesn't have a high BF%? She's lying to you.

that's ridiculous. peeople can make all kinds of excuses ... she's my height and weighs a hundred lbs more than I do, and I could lose weight if I really wanted too !!!

I thought so, it just irritates me because I am one of those annoying people who proudly post on facebook about their exercise achievements or weight loss or if I find a healthy meal that my family loves. And she always comments saying stuff like why she can't lose weight, eat healthy, or exercise...outside of that she is a pretty darn cool person but that just grates me lol. And she keeps posting pictures of Marilyn Monroe saying she was a "big" girl, and she was no where NEAR big!

I got a kick out of that. 5'2" 220lbs, not even the most roided out female body builders are that big. Just a quick glance at her should make it obvious she's got a serious problem with telling the truth.

I know it is annoying. I have people say to me that I'm lucky my genes let me be tiny. Yeah, my genes make me less than 5 ft. My genes make me an apple. I have no hips or boobs which is a genes thing too. My genes also make me have a hypothyroid and diabetes which can make it hard to lose weight. On top of that I think I may be starting menopause which often makes it hard to lose weight. Hmmm, maybe I'm not very big because I watch all the food that I put in my mouth and exercise. And some of the people who say these things live on pizza, fast food, chips and hate green veggies. Oh, and exercise is the trip between the bathroom, the kitchen and the tv. Yeah, it's genes.

The reality is, how you react to it is how you choose to react. I try to feel sorry for these kinds of people. I mean, they are always victims of something and have an inability to take responsibility for themselves and make their lives better. People like us deal with the fact that since we aren't in the shape we want to be in we can actually decide to put the fork down and go for a walk.

Also, do you think that no one sees through this stuff? People are probably laughing about her behind her back. So you keep doing what you're doing and she can do whatever she wants to. Just don't take what she says personally, it is her problem.
