I am new to MFP and so far I love it! When I signed up I was started out at 1200 calories which seems to be the norm for everyone. I stay way under that each day, workout atleast 3 to 4 times per week. I have lost 4 pounds in the past 10 days, but I feel like I may not be doing this right. I calculated my BMR and came out with 1680??? I so very confused on what I should be consuming each day and I never eat my earned calories back. Please can someone guide me to the right way to do all of this since I so desperatly want and need to loose this weight! Thanks

Awesome for taking control of your life! Not eating back your calories is fine since you want to loose weight. I would warn not to go below 1200 for very long your body will go into starvation mode. 1200 is the mim u need. but after that its all up to how much and how fast you want to loose. Keep it going! Great Job!!!0

Thank you! Im so afraid of going over. I plan all of my meal in advance so that I know what I am eating as well as consuming over 14 glasses of water a day. This is tough but Im more than ready for the challenge and I now know I have to eat 1200 a day.0

Since I have started working out & the diet again I have felt better and more energy. I feel better throughout the day and look forward to going to the gym. During my workout I keep reminding myself when I am getting tired that I need to do this and I can. Afterwards I feel as if I still have energy to keep going.0

That's amazing. It sounds great to me. What are you doing to help you lose weight? I hope you don't mind me asking.0

I am def watching what I eat and you can see from my food diary. I have been eating alot of protein and veggies and drinking no less than 55 oz of water a day. I also take 5000mcg b-12 zip melts from GNC in the mornings.0

If you are staying "well below" 1200 calories, you mustn't be eating hardly anything. Not a good idea to do that. 1200 calories is a bare mininum in my opinion. If you want to diet correctly, I would recommend seeing a nutrionalist.0

On a typical day I have coffe with creamer, egg white with salsa, snack of cheese and boiled eggs, lunch 40z of chicken breast and a veggie, snack usually fruit, dinner more chicken, brown & wild rice and veggies. I also consume about 55 oz of water a day as well. Im open for suggestions of what I can bring into my diet to help me.0

What he said. It just seems like you're doing good at what you're doing at the moment. Keep in mind safety precautions as you go. If you feel totally drained, it's definitely telling you that you need more energy. so up those calories. The more you work out, the more calorie intake you need. 1200 is said to be the minimum each day. IT's my goal, but i've been about 100-200 under for most of my days. I haven't felt like i'm starving and i never would let that happen. And since i haven't been doing any workouts lately, my body seems to be doing just fine.0 -
Thanks everyone... I will make it my goal to reach 1200 a day and on the days that I work out I will increase my calorie intake.0
