Realizations when under stress

Recently I have been dealing with some issues with friends and it felt like it was consuming my life. After talking with my fiance' and my mom as well as going through a stressful and difficult family illness, I have come to realize that there were some people in my life who were not who I thought they were and just not there for me. It hurts but I realized that they don't matter. It's funny to me how those people who I believed I was so close to turned out to be the least supportive and not there at all during my family illness/crisis. As it turns out other friends who I had not spent a lot of time with have been the supportive ones I have needed in my life. I have felt a huge burden lift from me with having those who care around me and now feel like I have the motivation and strength to move past those individuals who have not been there for me and not waste time on them affecting me negatively.

Thanks to all my supportive MFP and facebook friends. I love you all and you rock!!

Yes, it can be surprising to find out who your friends really are - but that's a good thing to know, so you can surround yourself with the people who truly want the best for you.
