Me Again.. I'm getting really fed up with not loosing any weight.. I've been going to the gym since the end of Jan and typically burn about 350 cals doing cardio (more recently started doing some weights also) I've managed to up my cals from 500 to 800 and now have approx 1000 to 1200 a day but i've not lost anything..

Anyone else in the same boat? I get so disheartened when I see how well everyone else is doing.. Really gets me down.. :grumble:

I believe in the rule of getting at least 1200 "NET" per day.

At a certain point I was eating less then stopped losing for 3months... "THREE FREAKIN MONTHS" Weight stayed stagnant or higher during Time Of Month.

When I went through it, I began making sure I was always at a 1200 NET as recommended (or even slightly over) and it started falling off within a week to two weeks of making that small change. I stayed as close as possible to 1200 but never over maintenance calories (which was 1500 for me). ALSO to get myself out of the rut I did not get on the scale every day and started measuring again. I had lost inches by gaining some lean muscle I hadn't noticed because I was still wearing sweats or oversized jeans that looked like I was wearing a diaper. I can thank my girls for pointing out the fact by showing that they could pull my pants down, right past my hips

Hope the scale begins to move in your favor. Don't give up and stick to it. It will happen for you! This lifestyle change takes time and dedication.

According to my BMI I'm overweight! I got to do this thou I don't know why else to do to lose weigh other then eat more (and healthy) and work my *kitten* off in the gym which I have to admit I am really starting to enjoy. I just get real down when I see skinny girls and they got pics of their bodies as profile pics and everyone say they look amazing. I want to look amazing..

In the words of Dory.. Just keep swimming.

Thanks hun I know I sound like a broken record but it's really getting to me! I got some nice new clothes but can't wear them as they are too tight or show how fat I am. I'm quite good at disguising it at the moment but with the summer on its way I can only do that for so long..

For about 18 months it survived on 500! My point is I'm slowly building up my cal intake to become healthier and eat more. I'm prob not going to stick to 1200 a day forever but it's more then double what I was eating only 5 months ago

This article might give you some good tips. I have an endomorph body type apparently which explains ALOT about my struggles to lose...and to keep it off.

  • I agree, up those cals. I have increased mine and also doing a 200 squat challange. I do differant exercises each day to keep me going. Give it a shot. I am struggling with the last 10-15 really bad. But I won't give up because it would not take long for me to be right back at the starting gate!

Don't give up, you are worth it!:flowerforyou:

Thank you. I'm in a group on MFP that posts different exercise challenges each week which is fun and also keeps my work outs interesting. I am slowly upping my cals to get healthy
