How can a clementine have 40 calories and 17 carbs? I mean, I've always thought fruit was healthy. If I hadn't logged it, I could eat more than one. Gordon Bennett :noway:

It's full of sugar, of course it's going to have calories and carbs. Fruit IS healthy. Calories are the things that fuel your body. Don't fear them.

I dare you to find another sweet snack under 40 calories...

There stats are high, but they are quite tasty. I eat at least 4 a day. I pay attention to the calories not the other stuff since they are a fruit and healthy for me. ;)

That's a big clementine. Did you weigh it? I use the entry Clementines - Raw entry at 35 cals and 9 carbs (at 74g) - matches the USDA entry. Considering they are mostly sugar and a little fiber, the calorie count isn't surprising. And you can still eat 5 of them and still be better off than eating a candy bar.

Back away from nutritional data, it's messing with your mind, because the data should have also said fruit is healthy and 40 calories is pretty low for something as tasty as a clementine.

Also, those stats are wrong. It can't have 17 carbs and 40 calories...

the latest batches i have been getting have been very small. i started counting those as 1/2 a clementine. There are days where I ate as many as 16. :)

A lot of the time the additional info (fiber/carbs/sugars) don't make sense on MFP. Might want to weigh and check that.

I don't think it can have that many carbs. One gram of carbs is 4 calories. 4 x 17 is 68 and the calories are only 40.

Full of sugar, beware of even "Healthy" foods can make you fat if they are loaded with sugar :-)
    Just have one.
  • I chose the first entry in the food data. It is a small clementine so I'll change it to the raw one
  • Now, I'm confused. I chose Fresh fruit - clementines - raw and it has come up with carbs 0; calories 0; fat 0; sodium 0. Should I choose this one?????
