NSV Party Up In Here!

I'm trying to make my fitness and health goals exactly that - and less about "look at the numbers on my scale increase and decrease". I know weekly weigh-ins are crucial to keep some folks on track, but dude, I turn into this disordered thinking person who fixates and once a week becomes once a day becomes once in the morning and once at night and oh my god that is not healthy or normal.
To that end, I want to share my NSV victories regularly to keep myself confident, positive, and motivated - and hearing about yours would definitely be inspirational!
Let me kick things off:
Yesterday at my pilates I took my first intermediate class and it didn't kill me! In addition to not dying, I've found that I'm getting stronger and can do more each time I go into the room. It's amazing to me also to think about how I'm incorporating breathing into my practice - whereas when I started out just two months ago I was holding my breath and hating every minute of it - yeeee hawww!
What about you?

I am definitely coming around to your way of thinking.
Fitness NSV: After years of shuffling along on my 2 mile "runs," I now easily run 3-5 miles most days without getting winded. And maybe more importantly, now I LOVE it.
And this made my week: I noticed my jeans all look sloppy on me, so I finally went to the GAP to buy a new pair. Tried on my first pair of 6s in, oh, about 6 years, and they FIT. And were ROOMY. So I tried on another pair in a different style--they also fit. I had to restrain myself from buying every pair of 6 Longs in the store (I'm 5'10").
And this is all with only about a 7-8 pound weight-loss total. The running has completely changed my body.0 -
That is awesome! Frankly, the idea of a non-stop jean buying party is maybe my favorite thing ever - congrats!0

Fitness: I used to HATE running, my breath would give out sooner than my legs, and I could barely manage a shuffling jog for about 10 minutes.
Last night I ran over 3 miles in just under 40 minutes, and loved it - being out in the beautiful sunhsine helped, of course, but I'm looking forward to taking part in the relay part of the Belfast Marathon in a few weeks.
Clothes: I found an old top that I used to love, and put it on at the weekend. It just looked baggy and shapeless.0 -
I was able to button my favorite suit jacket for the first time this morning, and I haven't weighed myself, even once, in two months.
My fitness NSV is that I used to be dead the morning after our grueling football workouts. This morning, sure I was stiff, but instead of hitting snooze seventeen times and making myself late for work, I hit snooze once, very carefully got out of bed (stiff and sore... we did tackling drills last night) and hit the shower. Post shower, I felt like a new person. I used to need 3 days of recovery after a training like last night's!0 -
Ditto on the breath giving out before the legs. Now I'm older and my legs definitely get sore, but my lungs feel like they could go on forever. Especially on these gorgeous spring mornings.0
