Strength training with no weights??

I dont belong to a gym or fitness center. I do not have a "home gym". What can I do for strength exercises that do not require me to buy a bunch of expensive equipment. I have never formally strength trained unless you want to include unloading bales of hay or 50lb sacks of feed but that was a long time ago. Now I am soft and flabby and I feel week. I want to do something to build some muscle but havent gotten to the point where I am ready to go out and join a gym. I hate them. Any ideas? Suggestions? I dont know where to start. Thanks!

use your own body weight against you stand against the wall and bend your knees like u r about to sit down for your legs, use canned foods for weights. I used to do that or filling a garbage bag with sand or dirt ( make sure you double bag it tho) for weights for the upper body those r just a few starting ideas good luck0

If you get some resistance bands, a few free weights, and a stability ball, there are a million different strength training exercises you can do!0

Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones. All you need is 3 lb weights. She is awesome and get results pretty quickly if you stick with it0 -
those are good suggestions. hauling around a sandbag is another good workout.0

yeah, your own body weight and gravity can be the only weights you ever need. I have no room in my house, but I picked up The Biggest Loser video game to use on my kids' Wii. There are some strength exercises that will have you aching from head to toe.0

squats, lunges, and push ups!0

I have the resistance bands & some free weights. They help with the shaping without a lot of fancy equipment!0

Push ups, sit ups, pull ups, running up and down stairs are all great exercise without a gym and weights. You can buy a 40# dumbbell set at Wally World for about $30.
