Hi. I am a first time mom and breast feeding. I'm looking to lose the baby weight and some more! Unfortunately I have a fractured foot so jogging and high impact activity is out of the picture. I would love for anyone to add me I need all the support I can get. I also need to be able to fit back into my suit for work in 5 weeks

Hi and congrats! I had a very hard time losing while breastfeeding as my supply was low for pumping. I couldn't diet or exercise the way I wanted to or the supply would get even less.
So....my recommendation to you is oatmeal! If you like it, eat it!! It is good for you and good for your supply! (I hate it so couldn't eat it....but I hope you do because it would be great for you!)
GL! You will get more advice I am sure.0 -
I also hate oatmeal I am worried that diet and exercise will affect my supply but I feel like I eat nothing but junk food and feel heavier now the I did when I left the hospital two weeks ago....0

Feel free to add me so you can see my diary. I think the way I eat may be good for you.

Make sure you add "breastfeeding" to your diary each day. Search for it under foods and it adds the calories you need.0

You really will naturally lose weight while breastfeeding, I know I did but you cannot starve yourself as your body will hold on to everything if you get in to starvation mode. Eeat as much as you feel hungry for, listen to your body and make healthy selections. no fried foods, etc. This will also help baby not to have excess gitas. I breastfed for abt 15 months so I def. understand all of your struggles. Be patient and take good care of yourself, plus don't forget the prenatal vitamins. Congratulations.0 -
I havent breastfed in a long while, but did exclusive bf for a good time with my daughter.
Your supply shouldn't be compromised by eating healthily. Set yourself up for a reasonable weekly loss (1lb or less). Make sure you add the 'breastfeeding mother' allowance in your diary each day (you can find it on the food database). As long a you're getting your nutrients in, and drinking plenty of water / other appropriate fluid, you should really be fine.0 -
fenugreek, oats and loads of water too! congrats on your new baby0

a great snack food is frozen edamame you can get it in a steam able bag at the grocery store for not to much money. Is high in protein and healthy fats0

When you're breastfeeding you don't want to lose too much weight. You should look into how much is "safe" to lose. However, if you eat healthy and drink lots of water, it's easy to lose the pregnancy weight.0

I have a 7 week old and breastfeed maybe 3-5 times a day. He was exclusively breastfed but has a severe milk allergy and terrible acid reflex. I have been on a none dairy diet and non acidic foods diet since March 6th. It takes A LOT of time and energy to find and prepare non-dairy foods/meals, pump milk, etc. I feel like Im gaining more weight than losing0

I also exclusively breastfeed my 10-month old. I finally reached my pre-pregnancy weight just a few weeks ago. The key, I believe, is to go slow and steady. It is said that since it took you nine months to gain all that weight, it'll take you at least nine more to lose it. Of course, this is different for everyone -but I feel like if you lose slowly, your milk supply won't be compromised. Try to fill up on highly nutritious foods to get the most bang for your buck, and exercise. Exercise is awesome!! It'll make you feel good about yourself and it'll help tremendously with your weight loss/toning. Feel free to add me as a friend!0
