Yep, mine are big, too. I used to diet specifically to get thinner thighs. Didn't work that well...0

Depending on your body shape (Apple, hourglass, pear shape, etc) there will always be one area of your body that will be the first to gain weight and the last to lose. For yourself and myself, its thighs.
I have found the key to losing weight on your legs is intense resistance training. Muscles are like a calorie furnace- without building strong muscle tone you will always have large thighs. Contrary to the belief that it will make you bulky - this is a huge myth.
I myself follow a clean diet of lean meats which are high in protein and low in fat, lots of fruit and vegetable, very few carbs and over eight glasses of water a day.
In terms of exercise, alternate days of weight training and cardio. Cardio needs to be at a high tempo so you raise your heart rate and burn fat faster and continue to burn calories even when you stop exercising. Weight/ resistance training such as squats, lunges, etc, are essential to targeting key areas of your legs that you aren't happy with.
Ultimately though, losing weight on your target area, is 70 % diet and only 30 % exercise. So unless you are eating right, your thighs is the first place you wil gain weight and the last place you will lose. Sad but true.0 -
Tae Bo is good for the thighs. I always recommend Tae Bo.
Check out this video of The Butt Bible on Collagevideo.com. Collagevideo no longer carries the 3 dvd set, 6 week program, but Amazon does.

You can get a copy of the workout calendar on page five of this thread: On page one, you will see the original posters results.

Warning: The instructor does talk from the beginning to the end of the workouts. Some of the things you hear her say, you might not agree with and she does use the A word. I hate that, because I don't cuss and I don't like to hear people cuss. I don't do the program as a program. I haven't done the upper body workouts, only the lower body workouts. I have yet to do level 3 workout.0 -
no spot reducing fat but you should do squats while maintaing a calorie deficit0

my thighs are alwayas big! i liek them because its from muscle and years of soccer. Your best way to lose weight around your thighs is running and walking alot. Especially up hill. Also its alottt of your diet! So if you want to lose weight around your legs watch any fatty foods being eaten and run alot. Also toning excersizes are good such as lunges. wall squats. regular squats. and if you do leg lifts like in pilates.0

I would say embrace them! The more I work out (and the more muscle I gain) the bigger my thighs get... no way around it for me! So my suggestion is to not focus on minimizing them, but on toning them
(The only time I had small thighs was when I literally starved myself for months.... not worth it!)0
