I now have hips!

So before I got pregnant I was 140 and 5'11.5. I had no hips and looked like a teenage boy. I wore a size 8 in pants. My question is after having a baby do your hips ever go back to the original size? I ask because my current weight is 154 and I can wear an 11 but they feel much tighter then when I was an 11 at 155 the last time i wore them. I know this is kinda a silly question. Feel free to poke fun if you like but I honestly want to know Can I be a size 8 again or are my hips destined to be curvy. Not complaining just wondering.

I think it's true that some women's hip permanently spread after giving birth. But the number on your pants doesn't matter. Yes, you can get into good shape and be fit, healthy and happy with your body after having babies. I'd bet you CAN get down to a size 8. Just be patient, give yourself time and work hard.0

Thank you so much. I was mainly curious to see if my hips were permanently going to stay more curvy. I like my curvy shape now but I'm mainly working on being more tone. Thank you for the advice.0

Yes he is. Kill me every day having to leave home to come to work I would love to be a stay at home mom if i could afford it.0 -
I always hear that new hips are permanent because the pelvic alignment changes. If it's just a curvy little fat deposit, I'm sure you could get rid of it if you desired to... but if it's hipbone, probably not!0

unfortunately i think that when you have hips that spread like that with pregnancy and child birth, they rarely go back. not all the way.
i have a very good girl friend that was a size 0 when she got pregnant. no hips at all. under 100 lbs, straight up and down.
after she had her son she had hips and boobs for the first time ever. she has been a size 6/8 ever since. he's 10 now. no matter what she can't change the hip spread.
i remember talking her into these awesome black leather pants at christmas of 2000. size 0 of course. in may of 2001, she got pregnant. i think she was able to wear the pants one time. i remember feeling horrible for talking her into buying them!!!0 -
Well part of my problem is I have 15lbs of fat still to loose. So I think realistically the size 11 will fit better after that. I would like to be a size 8 again or at least single digits. It may not happen. I squeezed into some 10s the other day but it was super tight.0
