My name is Jen I'm 23 and I am not necessarily new but new to the website community I've been on MFP for a while and am learning so many new great tips to getting to a heavier me.
As you can see I've lost 32 lbs but to me it's not enough and I even want to lower my goal weight to 115 lbs. I'm 5'1 and I have an athletic build. I carry my weight pretty well so ppl didn't even know I got to the weight I did hell I didn't even know until my mom told me I need to lose some weight and that's where it all began.
I'm stuck right now at 130 and I need help losing the last 15 lbs. On the weekends when I'm with my boyfriend he likes to eat whereever whatever so it's hard to be around him and not cheat and I get very discouraged around my period time ESP 2 days before when I can eat like a garbage disposal and still not feel full. So I would love some supportive friends and also I can return the favor like you wouldn't believe. Please any input/support/encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Hang in there Jen! You have come so far. You say you are athletic; is there something you can do, fitness wise, to boost your metabolism? Maybe some strength training or burst training? Perhaps you and your boyfriend can do something together on the weekends when he is wanting to eat so much like go for a walk or hike or do something more fitness related and less food related. Of course, you have to eat so maybe when you go out together, be sure to find something on the menu that is tasty but doesn't sink the ship with calories. I always feel a little deprived when everyone else is enjoying great food and drinks and I don't want to sabotage my efforts. The trick is to find ways to "feel" like you are having a treat. Most of the time the food cravings are about how you feel when you are eating them, like it's an indulgence or a celebration. So you have to find lo-cal or low carb or low fat foods, or whatever your diet plan is, to feel good; to celebrate. Soon you will be celebrating having reached your goal!
I am just starting and brand new to MFP. I am almost 50 and on top of that am going through menopause! I do well all day while at work, then come home and want to binge on sugar as a way to treat myself for having worked through a stressful day. Bought 2 bags of hershey kisses Tuesday and one bag is nearly gone already! My biggest obstacle is keeping me from talking myself out of exercising. I am quite good at coming up with excuses but my goal is to lose at least 25 pounds by my birthday which is in May! I weigh 170 pounds.
So, the weekend is here. You should look for a new restaurant to try that offers low cal/low carb foods or pick something new to try from your favorite hang out. Good luck! You can do it:)0 -
Jen and Vicki, I have been on here for about a month and the information I have seen here has given me good ideas. The main way I look at eating out is to check low calorie meats (Chicken, lean beef, pork and seafood) and how they can be cooked, add some spice to them and you will raise your metapolism so burn a few calories while eating. Try to stay away from sauces as they can add more calories to a meal than everything else on the plate. A spicey chicken dish and a flavoured rice or plain rice will make a good meal out (if you like spicey that is) if the spicey option isn't there have a small bottle of tabasco with you and add that to the meat just to liven it up/
As for trying to beat sugar cravings Vicki, try fruit, not just an apple or orange but a combination. I work rotating shifts, so when I am on nights or the grave yard shifts I make smoothies, I will buy complete fresh fruit and portion it then put it in the freezer. The local supermarkets here quite often have deals like buy one get one free or reduced price for buying muliple items, so I will put the extra in a bowl in the refridgerator and have that, currently pineaplle and cantalope.0
