80% of TDEE net or gross?

This may be redundant but.......

I calculated my BMR to be 1502. My TDEE is estimated at 2224. I'm only 8 pounds away from my goal weight so I factored in a 224 cal deficit and set my cals to 2000 a day. I keep reading that I shouldn't cut less than 20% of my TDEE so on days that I workout and burn 400 plus calories that would put me under (20% is 1779). So on workout days should I eat enough to make my net 1779 or just eat my 2000 for the day?

Thanks!

most TDEE calculations factor in working out. Just eat the 2000 calories.

I took like the workout buffer. Makes room for errors when you don't eat cals back
