hi, i have been exercising for the last 3 weeks one day on and one day off, some days twice, stationary bike, elliptical and general aerobics dvds, and i am having a few problems.
my right knee sometimes feels sore above and on the knee cap, its not swelled up or anything, but it sometimes feels cold and like theres gel there or something when there isnt?? and my right shin kills me sometimes just down the front of the leg, like when you've had pins and needles for a long time, you know that pain achy stage? ive been looking online and i keep seeing different things so not sure what to think. i dont want to go to my doctors if it something i can heal myself. anyone had this or similar?? thank you xx

i have had similar, i did same and thought it will sort it self out but it didnt,it got worse, i ended up going docs who referred me to hospital for cortisteriod injections and was prescribed tramadol cause the pain got so bad,,, when i saw the physio it turned out i had damaged the nerves in my femur due to bad posture and my knee cap was rubbing along the bone making it worse, once i started physio to correct my posture the pain went away,,,, point is go see doc before it gets worse0

Joints, especially your knees, are no joke. I agree with the above poster about going to see a doctor. If you don't want to do that right away, I suggest looking for the stretches/exercises for shin splints and trying that out twice a day for a month, if it doesn't work, you should not wait any longer for a doctor's visit.
If you have a legit RUNNING store, not just sneaker but one that caters to runners, you could try talking to them too. There is one near me that has a physical therapist come in for a Saturday morning every once in a while and will do free assessment on injuries. I'm not sure if this is common practice among running stores tho.0 -
