I am a horrible emotional binge eater. I seem to binge the most in the evening and at nights when my husband is off to work. I do great during the day, but when hes gone Im lonely and for some reason I binge when I am alone....or sad, or bored. Its such a vicious cycle that I cant seem to break. I am hoping to get some advice from other binge eaters. And hopefully some new supportive friends too.

The only way that I was able to stop binge eating is to keep busy.... with exercise or a hobby. And drink lots of water to keep you full.0

Feel free to add me, I have had struggles with this also, through the same reasons pretty much.
I tried the route of just keeping all binge foods out of my home. Didn't work as I ended up buying loads in and doing it all over again.
It requires looking at why you binge, the emotions, and better ways of dealing with them beyond food. Finding other methods of self comfort, like a good book, a walk, a hot bath, an interesting movie, an early night even.
And also, I am tackling it by not banning any food from my home. I know it is there, and is going to be there tomorrow and the day after so I don't need to eat it all at once. I let myself have a few chocolates as a treat, and leave the rest for another day, and deal with feelings of loneliness by reaching out here, or by playing games, watching dvds etc.0 -
I've been there. It's scary to feel out of control. It can feel hopeless to promise yourself that you'll do better today then have it fall apart in the evening, over and over again. I'm a work in progress. I found the book "Intuitive Eating" helpful in recognizing my eating patterns. Seeing my patterns described in the book was kind of comforting. I saw that I wasn't alone and so many women fall into the same dieting (disordered eating) patterns. It's a place to start. Binge eating isn't about physical hunger alone. It's about emotions. Good luck to you. Feel free to add me as a friend.0
