Hi I was just diagnoses with AS after severe back pain for the last 18 years, Does anyone have this as well. I could really use some ideas on how to exercise without causing flare ups

Hi, I am 30 and I have AS too, less severe, but I find the best is stuff with no impact on the joints, so I prefer biking to walking/running, swimmings great too0

My dad lived with AS for roughly 20 years. Was especially rough on him since he was also an umpire, but he dealt with it through plenty of stretches, bike riding, and an inversion table. Once in a while, when it was especially bad, he'd have to get a cortisone shot, but other than that, I think the stretching and biking helped a bunch.0

My wife has AS -- diagnosed 3 years ago. She's a daily runner (about 5k) and fights through the first ten before it stops aching, also does some strength training but nothing too heavy. I hear that 'gentle' yoga can help, too, but she has not yet tried it.0
