It requires strength to balance. All I can say is continue to work at it and you will get better. I do military presses with 5lbs with 1 leg bending and straightening. It gets easier. The yoga I've been taking helps too.

When you doing that ever so slightly bend your knee this will lower your center of gravity a bit and will help stability also tighten your core or imagine your belly button to your spine. This will also Help stability but practice at home standing on one foot without the weights and make sure your head is neutral and eyes forward :)

    Hope this helps!

Core strength is going to help your balance tremendously (honestly, it helps with EVERYTHING). Try focusing on that to help with the issue.

Start balancing while doing daily activities such as brushing your teeth.
Concentrate on one spot on the wall or floor.
Try the yoga exercise "dead bug" lying on your back bend your knees and arms at a 90 degree, move opposite arm and leg at the same time. This exercise is supposed to help the left and right sides of your brain work together.

I had absolutely terrible balance! Still not great but getting better! My personal trainer gave me an exercise ball to balance myself with one hand and hold the weight with the other. You might want to ask about that. LOL! I will work till failure with my balance cause it frustrates me so much. So I have improved quite a bit. However I have fallen in front of my trainer 3 times. I have also had 4 kids by c section so nothing embarrasses me anymore.

Ughhh balance exercises are the worst! My PT had me doing push ups on 3 balls (one for each hand and feet balancing on another). Talk about hard! lol
