Why isn't strenght training counted as calorie burning

Just noticed that when you add in strenght training, it doesnt help in adjusting your net calorie intake for the day.....only the cardio exercises seem to count. Am I doing something wrong?

    You can add it under cardio.

    You can add strength training under cardiovascular too. That's what I usually do - I log it twice. Just be prepared because strength training really does not burn that many calories, and MFP can sometimes be over-generous with its values.

    Yeah it totally guesstimates calories burned ...but....you burn calories for a long period after strength training, so I'd say it's pretty accurate.

    Estimating the calories burned from strength training is very difficult because it depends on a variety of factors: how much weight you lifted per repetition, how vigorously you performed that exercise, how much rest you took between sets, etc. Because of this, we do not automatically calculate how many calories you burned from strength training exercises.

    However, if you'd like, you can add "Strength training" as a cardio exercise to get a rough estimate of how many calories you burned. Please be aware though that this is definitely a rough estimate and can be fairly inaccurate.
