What's on your shopping list

Options
Hey guys and gals! I'm off to the grocery store and I was just wondering what's on your shopping lists? What are the things that you must have while on your weight loss journey.... This will not only help me but I'm sure it would give others ideas for food alternates. One of my MUST haves are dry roasted unsalted peanuts! they are handy when you need a quick snack and a serve size (1/4 cup) fills you up!

Easy grab snack stuff! I really love having the light sugar free applesauce for a snack and put cinnamon and another splenda packet into it. I also always ALWAYS have eggs in the fridge so I'll have one egg and 1 egg white with salsa as more of a filler for breakfast. I also try and buy fresh fruit to have always have on hand. Ummmm fat free milk, quinoa, fat free cheeses,.. Soy sauces, whole wheat pasta, 45 cal. whole wheat bread. Crystal Light for your water,... I hope that helps! I could keep going! :) Happy Shopping!

I mostly shop based on sales and this is what I look for:

    - Russet, New, Red, Yellow and Sweet potatoes
    - Chicken: Drumsticks, Thighs, and Chicken Breast (either skin on or skin off)
    - Extra Lean Ground Beef
    - Steaks: Top Sirloin, New York Strip
    - Chocolate
    - Lactose-free Milk
    - Frozen and fresh vegetables: usually blends like Japanese, Stir Fry, California or just plain broccoli and brussel sprouts. Also, tons of cucumbers
    - Berries (if they're on sale)
    - Bread: white hamburger buns, sausage buns, and tortillas. Whole wheat hamburger buns. Ezekiel bread.
    - Pork: bacon, honey garlic sausages, and tenderloin

Those are my regulars that are almost always in my fridge or cupboards.

My trip to the store yesterday consisted mostly of fresh fruits and veggies:
3 apples to try (Gala, Braeburn, and Fuji apple)
    1 bunch of Bananas
    1 container of Blackberries
    1 container of Blueberries
    1 container of Strawberries
    2 Mangos
    3 Navel Oranges
    1 bag of Baby carrots
    1 Pineapple
Foxy Celery stalks, it was a huge bunch of them I might add!
    4 avocados
    2 cucumbers
1 small bag of potatoes (mainly for DH)
    1 bag of spinach
    Pack of 4 peppers (red/green/yellow)
    2 packs of Grape Tomatoes
    Asparagus

Other than some stuff like couple of fryer chickens (whole), greek yogurt, some sugar free candies, coffee, couple Atkins bars, EAS drinks, oddball stuff like cat food, litter, Reynolds Wrap foil, that was pretty much it at the store! I'm probably forgetting a few things...

I think it costs more to eat better, no doubt, but it's worth it. Most stores here, their best deals or 'sales' are on crap foods like chips, cookies, pop. UGH!

I just got back from the supermarket! Today I bought:

    Fat free plain Greek yoghurt
    Fat free plain normal yoghurt
Frozen yoghurt, mango flavour (don't normally buy this cos it's got sugar in, but it's TOM!)
    Rice cakes
    Fresh raspberries
    Sugarsnap peas
    Skimmed milk
    Dried strawberries
Nakd bars (UK only I think, is a snack bar made from dates and nuts)
Food Doctor ready-to-eat Easy Grains (quinoa mixed with other grains, good for taking to work for lunch)
Merchant Gourmet ready-to-eat Puy Lentils (also for work lunches)
    Tinned tuna

    That's it!

Low calorie low sodium whole grain bread ( I try to get Ezekiel bread but my store doesnt always have it!)
Yogurt...I buy Choboni, or Fage 0%
Frozen fruit because its less expensive than buying fresh berries (to put in smoothies, for desserts, in plain yogurt, etc)
Eggs ( hard boiled for a quick protein snack, fresh for omeletts, or for making turkey/chicken burgers moist)
Ground Chicken or Turkey I buy the 99% lean. I love burgers so I make a lot of them, it makes me feel naughty lol
A good cereal. I like Kashi berry crumble or anything from Kashi is good. I get one that has less than 5 g of sugar
Unsweetened Almond Milk. It tastes good in cereal and is really low cal
Bag of spinach for salads, or mix-ins to meatloaf or burgers or saute for a good side dish
    garlic
    unsweetened apple sauce
    popcorn
    Canned tuna
Fat free or low fat shredded cheese
    Low carb/ Low cal tortillas
    salsa
    bananas
    tomatoes
emerald 100 calorie pack almonds and walnuts :)
    sweet potatoes

I cant stand to eat the same stuff every week so it changes but this is what I have in my fridge/pantry right now
