No willpower..

So I'm definitely lacking willpower when it comes to sweets. So for the people who have cut out there favorite foods and have cut out sweets how did you do it? How did you find the willpower to not cheat?

Tough one. I have a mega-sweet tooth and love my biscuits, chocolate and sweets. For me though I have a target to loose a few excess kgs before my 40th so that's my motivation. I'd suggest you look at why you want to loose a few kgs and focus on that. Also, remove all temptation from the house and don't buy any!0

-get it out of the house.
-drink lots of water when you are tempted.
-ask if you love that food more than you love your health.
-think about how accomplished you will feel later if you dont eat it.0 -
Substitute! Whenever I get a sweet tooth I make something sweet, but healthy!!!!
I'll cut up and apple and put a little honey and cinnamon on it
Hot tea with sweetener
I LOVE BERRIES I always keep berries in my house because of how sweet they are
Plus low calorie sweets get me by.
I love the fiber one 90 cal brownies
Sugar free Jello saves my life! (10cal) or the Jello mousse temptations (60cal)
There is also a website called 400caloriesorless.com and they have a ton of amazing recipes for low cal deserts!!!
Hope this helps!0 -
I'll be completely honest...
I haven't cut them out.
If sweets is something that you love, why should you have to get rid of them entirely?
The trick is to look for ways you can have them. Small portions. (I love Ghiradelli chocolate squares. Individually wrapped. 70 cal each) Or baking with substitutes. Sweet and low may be a challenge to bake with at first, but once you get the hang of it, you'll love some sugar free chocolate chip cookies! Also check out your grocery's sugar free sweets section. The calories are usually significantly reduced.
They're just my opinion and mine alone.
But the more you cut out the things that you love without a comparable substitution, the more likely you are to cheat.0 -
It takes time, and you gotta slowly let yourself go of it. Getting rid of it cold turkey only makes it harder on yourself. Slowly over time start eating less and less of it until you no longer feel you want it.0

Hey
First of all, I still eat my sweets! When I can I replace certain foods with sugar free alternatives though.
Also, I read some obscure article that said when you crave salt your body needs water and when you crave chocolate or sweets your body needs protein...
I drink a chocolate flavoured whey smoothie after workouts which gives me the protein I need and a sweet treat0
