bump! Been vegetarian for over ten years now, and I'm flirting with the idea of going all the way! Would love to hear some feedback from those who have committed to this lifestyle.

I was a strict vegetarian a couple of years ago, due to digestive issues. I currently eat whatever I want, but I have a lot of days that I do not eat meat. Some good and popular books are: The China Study, Veganist, The Engine 2 Diet, and Skinny B*tch. There are also a lot of great cookbooks that can help you transition. Good luck!

I've been vegetarian for 5 years and went vegan for about 6 months last year. It wasn't hard to find tasty stuff to eat and my skin cleared up from the lack of dairy. That being said, I found it hard to get much protein without fats and carbs and my B12 levels were getting low so I went back to eating fish and eggs a few times a week.

If you do choose to go vegan make sure you do your research. You simply wont get all your bodies needed nutrients without fortified foods and/or supplements.

I have been vegetarian for 12 years and Vegan for 8. Feel free to ask me whatever. I highly support your decision. Watch Forks Over Knives and read The China Study. My favorite Cook Books are Vegan with a Vengeance and Veganomicon.
