Getting there ...

Ok, I am tall, female and 5 ft 10 in, and just 15 lb away from the top weight for my hight (I am big boned ... I did the wrist test). My original aim was to get 11 lb under the top weight for my hight (according to Boots the Chemist scales - there is a big gap between the top and bottom weight for someone of my height), but both my PT and best friend have warned me about getting too thin (PT told me this week that I was getting near that point).

My queries is, should I carry on to where to I think I should be, or should I stop losing weight shortly based on the oinion of 2 people whose opinion I value. Difficult choise for me as best friend is v short and PT's background is in lifting.

Probably best answered by tall people - LOL.

I've been thinking of going to do one of the immersion fat level tests (can't remember what they are called for sure) to get the right number for me given muscle and bone mass. There was a simpler test my trainer had given me that said what I should weigh and I am going on that one. Either way it will still leave me with a BMI that says I'm overweight.

Do whatever is healthiest for your body. I agree with getting your body fat % accurately tested. You may not be able to get much smaller if you are large framed and have good muscle mass. Sometimes our ideal weight is a magical number that isn't realistic.

I am 6'4" and I have some concerns about my suggested weight. I spoke to my doctor about it as well. He advised me to get the body fat test done when I am where I feel I want to be. He is not a fan of the BMI or of the range of weight that they like to lump people in.
