I've always counted simply water. I'm not sure if this is true or not but I've heard that the caffeine in tea/coffee causes water retention so whenever I drink those kinds of things, I count them above and beyond my normal water. I also don't stick to 8 - 8 oz glasses per day. I stick by the rule of drinking half my body weight in ounces, but no less than 100 oz per day.0

Usually it is 8 cups of water, not tea, coffee, etc.
If you are having a hard time with 8 cups, try spreading it out throughout the day. Maybe try drinking one cup every 1 1/2 hours?0 -
It's easiest just to count pure water.
I know most beverages could be counted, but usually there is some odd ratio/math involved.0
