I am living with my Mom being fulltime caretaker at this time. She has Parkinsons and Dimentia. It isn't easy. I don't get a full night's sleep (it is broken up into 2 or 3 hours at a time) and...being a stress eater, I have my work cut out for me. I am about 60 pounds overweight. I'm almost 59 years old. Wondering if there is anyone out there with similar circumstances who would like to join me in support. :flowerforyou:

I live with my 87 year old father who has been in fairly decent health considering his age. He has high blood pressure, COPD and is a survivor of both colon and prostrate cancer. Lately he has been experiencing bouts of lightheadedness to the extent that he blacks out and falls down. The last time he did that he broke his ankle (last month) but refuses to keep the air cast on. The doctor feels one of his high blood pressure medications may be to blame for his blackouts so he has removed that medication for the time being. We live in an rural and very isolated setting although we are only 20 minutes by car to the city but I am afraid to leave him alone for any length of time. His mind is still pretty sharp but he does have an old friend who phones three or four times a day and never remembers doing so which is a bit irritating. I shouldn't complain because it is pretty obvious that my circumstances are not as bad as yours but it is very stressful nonetheless as my mother has been deceased for many years and I am an only child so don't really have anyone to help. I, too, am about 60 pounds overweight (most of which I put on after I quit smoking nearly five years ago) and I will be 60 this September. I would be happy to be your friend during this weight loss journey.
