You guys CAN do it! I always recommend to log your foods BEFORE you have them, that way, you can make better food choices, or cut your portion size on say your meat or whatever. I sometimes log ahead 4 and even 5 days, so that I know just what I'm eating, and that I have enough numbers each day for whatever I'm planning on eating. And if I DON'T, then I get in some extra exercise, which to me isn't killing myself, it's dancing to my fast oldies, jogging with the Wii Fit, or just good old fashioned walking!
Drinking the water was, and IS tough for me too, but, it really DOES help, so really try!
I just came home from work and downed 3 10 oz. glasses of water in a row. I try to just do that off and on, drink a couple at a time, just to get it out of the way quicker. And the earlier the better, since I don't want to be up peeing all night!
  • thanx for the encouragement, think i might fill a small water bottle and carry it around with me no
excuses eh well done for the weight loss

Thanks guys that all sounds good and I do feel better. I just stepped away from the kitchen and started working on something else so i won't eat:) I never thought of entering it ahead I was just doing it after the fact.

Can anyone explain what it means when someone invites you to be a friend? What is that all about?

Hi Shelly, and welcome to THE best site on the web! :flowerforyou:
Don't be scared, you are going to so love MFP and all the great people here!
Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off! :noway:
Don't go making the mistake that if you have LOTS of numbers left at the end of the day that you'll lose even faster, because that DOESN'T happen. Feel free to read any info about the site in the "help" section at the top of the home page. And also, under "all topics", then "general", and check out the first few threads. They'll really help you understand how MFP works.
Before coming here, I had tried just about EVERYTHING out there, including hypnosis, TWICE, and nothing really worked until MFP!
Also, drink LOTS of water, it REALLY DOES help! :drinker:

I'm hopelessly addicted too... I can't help myself. I love this tool. It is making me accountable for what I eat and excited to keep going since I'm seeing real progress. It makes sense that if you want to eat more, you need to exercise more. It is so easy to forget then when there are so many crash diets that promise to make it easy. You should be working for it!
