I want to add strength training to my routine and not sure what to do. I still have 55 pounds to my first weight loss goal. How many days a week do you strength train?

Three days a week doing a full body routine made up of compound lifts (squat, deadlift, bench press, bent over rows, and overhead press). If you're new to lifting you might just want to keep it simple and work your whole body for each session.0

Try going to bodybuilding.com they have lots of great and easy to follow programs0

Try stronglifts 5x5 , you basically start with an empty bar and work your way up 5lbs at a time. squats dead lift , bench press, shoulder press , barbell rows. Body weight exercises are also great , push ups pull ups dips ect..0

I am sure you are going to get a ton of responses about this but I wanted to let you know about this program several ladies on here are doing.

It starts off fairly easy and works up pretty quick. I like it because there are videos of all the exercises so you know how to do them Check it out see if you like what you see and let me know. I will send you the link to the group.0 -

Jamie easons program looks good but I am doind C210K so run 3 days a wk and shes saying no cardio0

Most of them say no cardio - it's something about not being able to effectively train both ways at once.0

I like the new rules of lifting for women.0

I do cardio at least 5 days a week myself, whether be 5K's, treadmill, elliptical......so I am just going to take her day to day program and add cardio to it.......i'm not planning on following it exactly her way. I just need more of the WEIGHT TRAINING plan.....not the entire program. :-)0 -
thats what I did too. I still do/did cardio but use her plan as a guide for my weight training.0
