Couple questions regarding BMR

So I went to http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/ to calculate my BMR.
It stated that I need to eat X amount of calories to get to my goal weight, but it does not specify the time frame it should take me to reach that goal weight.
Also do you modify your BMR as you start losing weight so it becomes smaller?

I think I read that you should re-figure your BMR after every 10 lbs, but I'm not sure if that was from a reliable source. I'll have to see if I can find it. I could be confusing it with TDEE.0

BMR and TDEE both change as your weight changes. It probably isn't a huge change until you lose about 10 lbs. 3500 calories = 1 lb. To lose 1 lb/week you need to have a 500 calorie deficit from TDEE. I choose to do this through eating less calories, but I could also add in more exercise.
Does that help?0 -

That's what I've been finding in the other board posts, too.0 -

I am frustrated with trying to find out my BMR (went to fat2fit) and body fat %. I'm just going to slowly up my calories to what they say and when I get there I get there. In the meantime its all a learning process.0 -

MFP doesn't really know how long it'll take you to get to your goal weight, either. I don't think anyone can be absolutely 100% on unless they're weighing every single thing they put in their mouth. I would think the calories in a bowl of raisin bran would differ depending on how many raisins are actually in the bowl, ya know what I mean? Just be patient and let it happen. You'll get to your goal in a healthy way without starving yourself to death. :flowerforyou:0 -

I think this helps a little, I guess when I lose 10lbs, I can re-evaluate.
Thanks for the help!0 -
