I tend to search each ingredient that is included in my meal. It can be easier to just create the food yourself, but when you decide to change it up, you pretty much have to make the food from scratch which is a pain.
Once you have used these ingredients often, you won't have to keep searching it because it will in your most frequently used foods or recent foods, depending on how recent you use it.0 -
If its something I eat often, but might change 1 or 2 things I enter all the ingredients separate, and then click Quick Tools->remember meal. It will then save each ingredient as part of that meal. I find this easier than creating a recipe for the most part because recipes dont let you alter the ingredients. For example if I save a meal of two slices of bread, with peanut butter, and jam, and go to add that meal later, it will add all those ingredients. Then say for another day I may not have jam on it, I can just delete jam after adding the meal. Sorry, I'm not sure how to make that any clearer.0

This is exactly what I do michelle. We usually have a roast dinner twice a week. I don't have any roast potatoes or anything like that, just veggies, meats and a bit of potato because I enjoy the taste
So instead of searching each ingredient every time, I will use the Quick Tools from last weeks roast dinner and maybe add a bit more to it or take stuff off without completely changing the meal.0 -

usually when I make something homemade its the same ingredients, so I just add it to my recipes then you never have to search again!0

u can add it to your recipes and when you change it up you can edit easily! Also I fond it silly but you can alter your recipe on your phone app but not on the website.0 -
For a sandwich, I just enter the ingredients separately. For a meal (like chili or egg salad) I enter it as a recipe.0

it's really important to MEASURE each ingredient and log it separately, otherwise it's not going to be accurate. There are loads of "generic" entries in the database, but i wouldn't recommend using them. And like the gals above said, it's smart to 'save' the meal so you dont have to look up the same foods over and over!
GOOD LUCK ;0)0
