Hey, my name is Joe, and I'm back. I lost over 70 pounds, then gained 40 of it back. I saw a videotape of me performing on stage and I realize I'm back to not liking myself. So, I going to lose the weight again it's a lot harder to start this time, I keep putting it off, but no more. Let the games begin!

I second Megan's welcome! :flowerforyou:
Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off! :noway:
Don't go making the mistake that if you have LOTS of numbers left at the end of the day that you'll lose even faster, because that DOESN'T happen. Feel free to read any info about the site in the "help" section at the top of the home page. And also, under "all topics", then "general", and check out the first few threads. They'll really help you understand how MFP works.
Before coming here, I had tried just about EVERYTHING out there, including hypnosis, TWICE, and nothing really worked until MFP!
Also, drink LOTS of water, it REALLY DOES help! :drinker:0 -

Kicking the smoking habit sucks. I always gained about 5-10 lbs every time I 'quit'. Just do what I did... have the military move you from Florida to Alaska and drive it. On a 13 day drive it's not worth stopping every 2 hours or so to smoke and I refused to smoke in the car with my wife who didn't smoke.
I keep meaning to watch Death Note but haven't gotten into it. I'm assuming it's pretty good? Did you hear they're probably making a Live Action movie?0 -
Hello all, i am kinda new here too. My daughter got me on this site last year. I logged maybe 6 weeks. i lost a few pounds. I also had previously lost a lot. 215( Previous Max) high down to 165. Then a lifestyle change A NEW job that interupted my workout schedule and it all started coming back . Now i have gotten over 230 and feel so "bogged' down. Like i can barely tie my shoes. So i started to try and eat more fruits and veggies and lots of pretzels. I quit smoking in Nov 08. I couldnt understand why i could eat so little and not lose weight. So i have started working out AGAIN. A little more sweating, 75 min a day and rejoined here and i have lost 8 lbs already. So i am feeling more encouraged. I never really knew how (or cared) to count calories, but it is definetly eye opening. So i just wanted to say i love this site and it is great to be able to share with others as well.

Same here...I lost 67lbs and didn't do so well this summer and gained back 20lbs. I'm ready to start again as well!
I replied to a post similar to this one, maybe a neat idea would be to start a support post for peeps who have "fallen off the wagon" so to speak and are ready to begin again.
Good luck everyone!0 -
I also lost about 50 pounds a few years ago, but gained it all back then some:embarassed:
I tried and tried but couldn,t get motivated again :grumble: Someone at work told me about this site, and now I got my groove back:laugh:0 -

Doh... apparently I totally missed the part about the 3 exsisting movies. I guess Warner Bros is making their own version. Link here if you want to see:
