The starting point....

Here's where I think "just about" everyone needs to start. This was inspired by a recent post that I will not link because I'm not out to get anyone, I'm just here to learn and help others. I've posted this before, I'll post it again.
1) Eat at a reasonable caloric deficit. 20% under TDEE is a good starting point for "most".
2) Lift weights.
3) Consume adequate macronutrients. (Fat and Protein minimums MUST be met)
4) Get rest.
5) Repeat.
6) Stop micromanaging all the acute and meaningless *kitten* that doesn't matter.
For the majority, the above is going to result in long term progress and I'm assuming that some degree of common sense is used in food selection. There will be people who require elimination of foods due to personal reasons (binging, medical conditions, individual intolerance, moral reasons) but as a general template, the above would be where I would start and for most people it would be where I'd finish.

Well said. It really is that simple when you break it down. All the fad diets, all the little tricks are really a waste of time and energy....it all boils down to the science that has been proven for years upon years. I'm starting to realize that more and more now.
Great post!0 -
Agreed 110%.
Unfortunately, there are those that will still have trouble with this no matter how simple you make it. :brokenheart:0 -

Where does colon cleansing fit into that plan?0

Where does colon cleansing fit into that plan?
At the "end".
That's the only pun I could come up with.0 -

We would have also accepted "It's at the bottom". Thank you for playing.0 -
