Primal Blueprint/Paleo diet....

Been doing some brief reading on the Primal Blueprint and Paleo diet. I feel so overwhelmed with all of the information that is put forth. It is a total spin on what I have been trying to do. Healthy? Yes, that is where I want to be.
What are your thoughts? I know people are super successful, but it's tough to have to rethink this entire process (again).

There is also a Primal/Paleo group - it is open to join - there is a lot of good information there if you just read through some of the threads....0 -
You can be healthy without following this diet/lifestyle; It is just one of the many ways you can get there.0

Been doing this for almost a month...I've lost 6 pounds so far, but the way I feel is even more valuable to me. It's not to hard it just takes time and planning and patience....the group the above poster mentioned is excellent I would advise you to look into it if you are serious. It isn't "conventional wisdom", and its hard to rewire your brain to think eating more fat, less carbs, and more protien could be good for you, but honestly I have never felt better. Even now if I eat those things I feel like crap, shows me how terrible it was for me. I love this lifestyle, but whatever you decide healthy is whats important!0

Hi Heather
I did strict low-carb paleo for some time last year and managed to reach my goal weight and maintain. After spending some time holidaying in the U.S I found it impossible to stick to Paleo. Over a period of a few months I'd gained back 7lbs! (which is a hell of a lot of weight on somebody of my size, 4ft11!)
I have since tried & failed over the past few months to stick to it, often having big binge sessions! I missed my morning porridge, a yogurt & the occasional beer. Although I felt healthy and had tonnes more energy, I felt miserable and restricted. I now try & eat paleo for 2 of my 3 meals a day and this works for me.
I think you really need to consider the long term when starting a diet that can feel restrictive to some people, or adapt it so it works for you.
Good luck!
