does diet pills speed up weight loss?

So a friend of myne who was on this awhile ago was on Xenadrine Ultra Weight-Loss Drink Mix, and lost a large amount of weight just wondering if this weight loss drink speeds up the process?

    I can't get behind any sort of "quick" weightloss success.
    Do the work and reap the rewards.

    They help you lose faster but you gain it all back as soon as you stop taking it sadly I know from experience . :(

    Anything that doesn't change your eating/exercise habits is unlikely to help you keep the weight off long-term.

    Interestingly they make the bold claim that, in clinical trials users lost 7 x the amount of weight that the placebo group did but I couldn't find a link to the actually abstract.....

    Personally I wouldn't touch this stuff with a 10 foot pole, it's mostly caffeine.......
