Addicted to food... Need encouragement!!!

Hello all!
I am a stay at home mom of 4 and this is my 3rd attempt with mfp and trying to get this disdusting fat off of me! I have a one year old son and I can't blame the weight gain on him because I only gained 5 pounds with him. After having him I did great and lost 20 pounds and was feeling so good! Not long after I went through post partum depression and gained every bit of it back! Now I struggle and feel so huge and want more than anything to get this fat off! I have learned it is a mental thing for me and am truly addicted to food! I eat regardless of being hungry and it scares me that I will keep getting big and my kids will follow my footsteps! I need motivation and help and encouragement so much!!!!!! Hope to meet some great people this time around to help me on this journey!!!!!! Have a great day!

  • I am a stay at home mom, and I will say that I know how easy it is to eat all day long! I was having a snack every time my 3year old did. I still eat all day long sometimes, but when it is healthy foods, it doesn't add up to anything (usually) I still have most of the foods I used to love, I just really have to pay attention to my portions. You can do this, do it for you (I have much more energy now that I dont eat just junk!)

Remember that you have to stay healthy (mentally and physically) for yourself and for your children... they need you! Stay active with your children, they are great motivators. Go to the park and play or go for walks or hikes... there are so many things you can do with your children that will be great for all of you! I loved being a stay at home mom, we had sooo much fun! When you want to eat, drink water or do some type of exercise (even if it is small). You can do this!!!! You will have so much support from this site. Use it, it's a great tool...feel free to add me as a friend.

I'm a stay at home Mom and I'm learning how to have a healthy relationship with food too. This is a process, not an event. We strive for progress, not perfection. Please add me!

Hi! I'm a SAHM too, so I know exactly what you are going through. My biggest thing is just making sure that I have healthy things in the house to eat instead of junk. If I keep a bowl of fruit on the kitchen island I'm more likely to grab that than something else hidden away in the pantry. I've noticed too, that the healthier my kids see me eat, the healthier they eat too. I want to be a good role model for them, so I try and set the best example possible. Also, when you go to eat snacks, try drinking a glass of water and then ask youself if you are really hungry or are you just snacking out of habit?

This is my second time coming to this website hoping I can make it work this time. I am a stay at home mom of 3 and totally agree it is hard to not munch all day long. When you start to think about eating grab a drink of water first. The way you feel about food will slowly change as you stick to a new way of thinking. Please feel free to add as a friend, we all need support that is why we are on this site. Good luck with your journey!
