What a journey! I have struggled with weight as long as I can remember. As a child, I was skinny until I hit around 8 or 9 yrs old, then I discovered food. The weight packed on and by the time I was 12 or so, I was 165 lbs. As a young teen, I was invited to play on sports teams that were an age group ahead of me (senior teams when I was junior age) and that was the best thing that happened! I loved playing basketball and volleyball and between the two lost weight and was around 143 lbs when I graduated high school. I am 5'6" tall, so not super thin but a healthy size 11. Then I moved away from home to go to school and in the first year, I believe I gained 20 lbs. I went up and down for a few years and by the time my husband and I got married 10 yrs ago (I was 26) I was a whopping 240 lbs. Stupidly, we never joined a gym before kids and only a few months into our marriage I became pregnant. I think my highest weight while pregnant was between 255-265 lbs (kinda tried to block out the actual number I guess!) I became pregnant a second time when my baby was just over a year old and sadly, at 37 weeks, our son was stillborn for no known reason. Another year passed and we decided to try again, I started to lose weight thinking that I would be healthier this time around and fell pregnant very quickly once I lost 15-20 lbs. I was still overweight but worked out while pregnant until about 6 months pg and then I stopped the gym and stuck to just walking. I managed to only gain about 15 lbs or so and came home smaller than pre-pregnancy. I thought this time would be different having two kids at home and running around all the time with them. Slowly, a few lbs came back on and I was right back to square one.

When the youngest was around a year old, I started going to the Y again and managed to lose about 20 lbs quite quickly, summer came and I gained 15 lbs back. That's when I said enough was enough. I worked out consistently for the next year but didn't lose much because I couldn't keep my food in check. My weight on Nov. 22, 2010 was 225.8 and I'd had enough. I started watching what I was eating and by Mar.18, 2011 when I joined MFP I was 217lbs. Finally, I was going in the right direction. I'm currently 175 lbs and seem to keep struggling every 10 lbs but in the end, I WIN! LOL! I'm happy to say I've taken it off and am keeping it off. I still have another 20 that I would like to lose but if this is where I stay, I'm happy too! Here's some pics! From a size 22 to a 14!
225 lbs (2002)
All three pregnancies! 205 lbs last May (2011) Spring 2012 175 lbs!
