  • Thanks Stacy I will look into that.

Oh I could eat a whole package of Oreos in one sitting no problem. So bad. I try buying cookies then putting serving sizes in baggies so I am aware of how many servings I am eating. But on low days that just depresses me and doesn't motivate me to stay with just one serving. But it works most days.

    Thanks for the support ladies

I'm off to take all the kids for a little walk. Then feed them and start quite times and naps.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for my little guy. The acetaminophen is finally working so he is running around some now just to get the antibiotic in him!

I am starving and trying not to eat anything bad but really craving some Chick Fil A! I do get their Southwestern chicken salad which is pretty healthy.

 I'm glad he's doing better!

I haven't tried Chick Fil A's southwestern chicken salad. I have more recently been getting their grilled chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, there's nothing really healthy on their breakfast menu. Went through drive thru w/ my daughter this morning, even after saying just yesterday that I needed to stop that. She'll be back in school tomorrow, so that should end.

Just got my custom orthotic inserts! I think I'm going to love them. He said I'm supposed to break them in slowly. I'm to wear them for an hour today, then increase the time by 1/2 hour each day until I'm wearing them all day. I can't wait to get back to really walking again!

 just one building LOL I don't think that would stop me if I knew they were there hmmmmm LOL

Oh I didn't share my mini goal

    Walk for a half hour
Drink all the water I only drank 3 glasses yesterday. I am not a drinker.
And say no to the sweets.

Well, I caved. I admit it. I have NO will power! When I got back from the Dr, I went in and got a brownie. I'm addicted to chocolate! I can't have it in the house or else I eat it. The past couple of years I had to have DH put the kiddos' Halloween and Easter Candy up way out of reach for me so I wouldn't get into it. That sort of works. I didn't eat as much candy. And at least I burned a few of those calories while getting the chair and climbing up on the counter to get to it.

    Good evening ladies.

lettuce, wow, when it rains it pours. glad to hear the meds are kicking in. hopefully this will be the turning point. my prayers are with him for a fast and full recovery . when a child is sick imho it is perfectly ok to focus your attention on soothing them and helping them recover. no guilt. give yourself a break you had an unusually bad night. if you feel like a walk or run would help you maybe ask you oldest for a half hour favor to watch over his litttle brother or put your little one in a stroller and take him on a walk . my boys were always soothed by a walk in their stroller. either way don't let the thought of exercise add to your stress. i hope you are reading this an air conditioned room.

Hi guys! How is everyone today? Today is a tough day for me to get in my cardio becuz of my school schedule, wont make it to the gym, but i am still gonna try and get in my cardio by doing some exercise videos on demand. I ate at wendys for lunch but i got a grilled chicken wrap and a baked potato (with butter but a very lil bit) so i didnt do too bad considering what i could have done. I feel more motivated this time....than i ever have been before, i feel like this time i am really going to achieve my goals, im PUMPED! :), hope everyone has a fabulous day!

me too. except i'm a salty, crunchy girl. have i mentioned CHEETOS.
i can not keep them in the house. and i talk myself out of them every time i go to the market.

starre - knowing someone is waiting for you at the corner definitely get you out of the house for a walk.
my cousin and i used to meet at 5:45am 4/week at the corner between our houses....it lasted about six months then her work scheduale changed and that ended the streak. it was one of my favorite ways to exercise.

lettuce- hope to hear you had a better night.

wks - i'm with you. this is it . i'm pumped

    good night everyone.
  • I just ran 30 minutes straight on my elliptical!!!:) And I measured myself and I lost 1.5 inches around my waist:happy: Yay!!!:)...

    congrats yankee!

i'm doing good drinking my water and got in my leslie sansone walk (4mi today). Puppy at home resting (un)comfortably in her crate with her e-collar. poor girl! she looks so goofy and pathetic!

since she's normally so active i'm keeping her confined to be sure she really takes it easy and dsn't mess up her stitches. (for those who don't know my cinnamon saga, don't worry. she just got spayed)

need to drink LOTS of water w/my lunch to avoid filling up with junk. and i will start dinner now. rice and beans and maybe chicken. the girls have already complained about it, but i don't care. until i can sit down and start figuring out some regular menus incl rotating in their faves, they'll get what i make. that's jus how it is.

dh came home early last night which was GREAT!
and lettuce--big hugs for you and boy. agree with comment eariler that you shouldn't worry abt exercise right now. what i like about this thread is we GET what it's like to have to tend to our kids, and how it pre-empts healthy eating and exercise. we've chosen our #1 focus to be them and the rest will fall into place with time and practice. hugs to you both!

    off i go--

I'm wiped so off to bed.
thanks all for listening to me go on and on about her. :brokenheart:  :brokenheart:

Well, Caden is still running a fever but not as constantly, hopefully we are on the mend and can get back to a somewhat "normal" routine. I have AC now too, thank goodness

Was way off track yesterday with eating and exercising but I am going to just try and forget it! Going to try and go for a run or hop on the elliptical for a little bit sometime today!

Oldest has another interview today so keeping fingers crossed he gets an offer. It is in a restaurant, that is what he really wants to do as part time work.

    Have a great day everyone!!!

Caden's fever broke and he was running around so I made oldest watch him while I tried to run/walk a couple of miles....didn't realize how tired I was and knee was giving me a little trouble so I didn't go as fast as usual but at least I got out there! It was nice and cool outside and overcast so good for running

Now to eat well the rest of the day.

Stacey - I'm glad you were able to find her a good home. I know it is hard w/ mixed emotions, but she does have a new good home. Raising a puppy is hard with little ones in the house.

Lettuce - I hope you all are on the mend too. I'm glad to hear the a/c is working again too!

Well, I only drank 6 of my 8 glasses water yesterday, but I ended up walking a little over a mile!

My goals today are the same:

    8 cups h20
    1/2 mile on the treadmill

I ended up doing only 10 min on the elliptical and 30 min of weight training but still the bodyjam for 60 min so still a really intense workout! I am really trying to reach my goal of losing 2 lbs this week to get off to a good start since its my first week. I keep weighing myself every morning and the scale is not really moving, im getting frustarated (i know i shouldnt weight but once a week, i cant help it)But when i weigh monday morning thats when it counts, i hope all this work i have done this week pays off. I just look at pics of myself now compared to before and it makes me really depressed, like i dont even recognize myself anymore....im so ready to start dropping weight...hope everyone has a great weekend!Keep up the good work!
  • So I stepped on the scale this morning and I am down to 248.4:smile: YAY!!!>......:noway: I didn't believe it!!!!.....Last night was my bro and sis birthday and my mom made chicken and dumplings..(my favorite..)...I ate a plate and had a slice of cake..And I STILL LOST!!

Today we are going shopping for the deals.... I am going to see if I can find a size 14, for my "goal" jeans....It may be hard though. I only buy stuff on clearance..I have never boughten ANYTHING full price..I'm very thrifty in that way!!! Anyways..How are my ladies doing today?!?!:drinker:

    Good Morning all!

Wks7777 What a workout schedule! I am jealous, wish I had the time/energy for all of that  Good Work though and keep up with the school work! I went to college while raising my oldest. What kind of lab are you taking?

Stacey---don't beat yourself up! We all do that to ourselves. Just remember every day is a new day to start over  (I should listen to this myself!)

Woo Hoo! Caden is fever free! The antibiotics are finally working their magic, have found it usually takes 3 days for it to totally work.

Hubby made me a scrambled egg with some mushrooms that I put on a 100 Cal English Muffin....was yummy:smile:

It is rainy here thanks to tropical storm Danny but we have a lot of errands to do today but I am hoping to get in some elliptical at least.

    Have a great day everyone!!!
  • UGH well I weighed myself this morning and I am up two pounds. How did I manage to do that? I was more active last week then the week before and at less. It better be muscle but I doubt it was.

lettuce - so glad to here caden is on the mend.

starre - do not get discouraged. if you continue to exercise and stay in your calorie limit you will lose weight.

i have a bar mitzvah tonight. The plan is to fill my plate with three quarters veggies one quarter what ever i want. two rules 1.absolutely nothing deep fried 2.only fill one plate (no seconds). afterall no one NEEDS more than one plate of food. i am nervous that i will blow off my idea/rules and eat the yummy things i WANT once the choice is in front of me. why can't i simply eat the things i KNOW i should eat.

hope everyone has a great day.

starre--it's not muscle. it takes a LOT of work to actually gain muscle. but it could be increased glycogen +water storage which can happen when you first start up with exercising.

stay in your cals, drink lots of water to flush it all out and if the exercise feels good, keep doing it. it's taken me 6mon to lose 12 pounds. take your time and keep moving forward with healthy habits and the #s will go down.

    hugs!

Welcome Cassie:smile: Believe me we understand how hard it is to be healthy and take care of the kids! It is hard when it seems like everyone else comes first. We help motivate each other and give suggestions for things to do or just listen while we rant....so welcome and glad you have jumped right in!

So far so good today! I did some good strength training and then I mowed the grass and burned an additional 284 Calories!! Woo Hoo!! I am really trying to get in some kind of exercise daily and drink my water (really one of the toughest things for me:grumble: )

Caden is back to his normal crazy little boy self  and school starts tomorrow for my gang so it will be an incredibly hectic morning followed by crazy evening filling out papers from schools but I plan on trying to take Caden to a playground by himself and having a picnic lunch during the day while the others are at school.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend so far!

just sharing that i ate TOOTOO much junk this week and i feel it. so sluggish. partly b/c of 100+ weather and stress of first week of school. but i think the crap cals leave me feeling like crap. surprise surprise. :noway:

i'll post up my goals tomorrow.
    4 weeks till dh reunion
    5 weeks till my reunion

will reach my goal!! will have nice eyebrows, chic hair, and 2 cute new outfits that flatter my thinner stronger self. (no, no vanity involved in this goal  ) i don't care--whatever gets me there.

will think about and post my goals tomorrow.

i hope you all had a better weekend. that you made good choices at many opportunities.
and lettuce--glad caden is much improved. good luck with school tomorrow!
