Fitbit Ultra Trackers

I'm strongly considering getting one of the Fitbit Ultra Trackers but I want to know more about them and what others think. Is it worth the 100 plus dollars to get? Are there better trackers I should look into? Should I forget the tracker? Let me know. Thanks!

I just don't think it's $100 worth of cool.0

I got one and have used it for 4 days now. I love it. I purchased it off of Amazon for $86.00. Things are not exact, but it gives me a great idea of what I'm burning on a daily basis. Totally worth the money in motivation that it has given me.0

I've also been thinking of getting one0

I was considering one for awhile, but then ended up getting just a regular heart rate monitor with a strap that goes over your chest. The FitBit only tracks steps and distance, then estimates calories burned based on that. A real heart monitor takes into account height, weight, gender, etc, then based on your Beats Per Minute, tells you how many calories you've burned.
If you're looking for a pedometer, then the FitBit might be up your alley, but if you're looking for finding out how many calories you burn during the day/during your workout, then a heart rate monitor is probably a better bet.0 -
Options options..
Heart Rate Monitors are really only meant to be worn while working out. A good one is more than $80 at minimum.
A bodymedia fit or budybugg is more accurate in all the points it measures to determine overall daily calorie burn/sleep/steps/activity, etc. but they run about $150 and after X amount of time depending on the deal you can find you have to pay to use their sites and see the burn numbers.
A Fitbit is only slightly less accurate than the bb or bmf above and their site is free. If you are looking to measure your TDEE so that you can find a base line of how many calories to eat per day, then its a good deal for the money.0 -

A Fitbit takes all those things into account as well. It also tracks intensity and movement in 3D, plus hills/stairs. A HRM would be inaccurate for someone on a beta blocker or who is very well trained.0 -
