Hungry me

I try to eat all my food groups in recommended portions but I'm left hungry after meals. I believe MFP has me set at 1510 for cals, and today for example I did 600 cals worth of exercise. I usually do between 400-550 and that gives me 2100 or somewhere around there to eat. BUT I'M STILL SOOOO HUNGRY and I feel so bitter becasue how the heck will I maintain this??? And why am I hungry after eating, what I consider to be hearty and proper meals?:brokenheart:

From what I can see from your diary, you may want to increase protein. Aim for at least 1g of protein per pound of lean body mass. Protein and fat helps keep you full for longer.0

I keep a stock of cottage cheese, greek 0% yoghurt, nuts and seeds in.
When I am feeling hungry after dinner, I make my own dessert from the greek yoghurt mixed with half a banana,a few prunes, a little jam/jelly or honey, some sultanas, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and a few walnut halves broken up. It is really filling.0 -
I'm having a hungry day oh well, I'll just try not to I above maintenance!
Nothing productive to add, sometimes really low calorie foods like veggies add bulk to make me feel more full without eating many more calories0 -
Eat more veggies. You can eat a lot of them for a few calories. Have a big salad before each meal and that will help you feel fuller. Looks like you are getting all your carbs from non-veggie sources which means they are likely simple carbs and spike your blood sugar.
Also, remember that fat and protein digest slower so try to spread those out and get 1/4 for each meal (3 meals and snack). Your body can only process about 30 grams of protein at a time so you don't want to overload on one meal with it.0 -
When I have a hungry day I make sure one of my snacks is 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt. Super sweet, yummy, and filling. Hunger pains gone for the rest of the day and I'm back to being satisfied with the rest of my meals.0

thanks wftiger... good advice! i always overdo the protein at dinner and doesnt hit bottom til an hour later when its like uuuffff. also really need to avoid those simple cabs that spike my blood sugar:grumble:
graelwyn great tip! im totally going to try that!0 -
My doc said she eats 2 cups of veggies with lunch and with dinner to help with the hungry factor. I've tried it and it works for me! :bigsmile:0

Another food that fills me up is edamame (soy beans). I get the frozen microwave packs, but I usually just let them thaw because I don't like them hot. Anyways, by the time I get through 1/3 of the bag I'm super full, and it only has 50 calories.
Also, I don't know how long you've been on your diet, but I remember the first 3-4 weeks was rough for me because I was always "hungry". However, eventually my stomach started to shrink making me become fuller much more quickly. What used to barely count as a snack in the past, is now enough to make me have to unbutton my pants after eating.0 -
Any sort of weight training makes me soooo hungry. Wake up hungry and go to bed hungry! Protein does help. I have a morningstar "sausage" patty on a 1/3 fiber light english muffin for 180cals/ 15g protein/ fiber. It'll stick with you for a few hrs. Good luck!0
