First time entry.

Hello everyone my name is Jamie. This is the first time I have been on the community board. I guess what I am looking for is to share my experience with people who are trying as hard as I am. Maybe gain a few friends along the way.

So here is my story. I have pretty much always been a heavy guy. In high school I think I was more active so I slimmed down. I met my wife right after high school in 1999 and we got comfortable with each other so I figured that there wasn't really any need to watch my weight. We were married in 2004 and we had our first child in 2005. I gained a lot of weight through here pregnancy. And then I gained more when our she was pregnant again in 2007. I guess my heaviest was in winter of 2011. I weighed about 315lbs. A friend told me about the htc diet which I tried and lost 40 lbs but I didn't phase off the diet correctly. And gained most of that weight back in about 4 months. This past January a friend of mine asked me to try snow boarding and I agreed. It didn't turn out so hot. I couldn't even buckle my own bindings and I couldn't get up if I fell. I was winded just trying to stand up. That was the day that I decided to change my ways. My friend who invited me snow boarding offered to start going to the gym with me, and we did. I have been going to the Hume 5 days a week for almost three months. I didn't start dieting until a month later. Every weekday I hit the eliptical machine for 20 minutes and lift weights for about 40 minutes. With my fitness pall app I track my calorie intake and the results have been awesome. I am down to 253 lbs as of this morning. I went from a size 50 waist to a size 42. I am almost at my halfway point. I would love to get down to 200lbs. I will not give up until I get there.

    I'm 26 years old, 6' 1.5", currently 276lb.

I started at 280lb, and I'm trying to reach my Willoughby athlete weight of 208lb (height cubed / 1906).

Anyone feel free to add me if you need motivation. I've been here a week and expect no less than remarkable success.
  • Wow I was not expecting feedback like that. Thank you everyone! It's good to know that people are around if you need them. I wanted to add that I never gave up on the snow boarding thing. I went 5 more times and by the end I was able to do all the things I could not do when I started. It's so much fun. Really hard to believe how my weight was holding me back form so much.
