Can you choose a small goal ? Like walk to the park / grocery store / wherever ... and back .... and build it from there ? I've just *literally realised I am an all or nothing person ... hence back to basics for me, and I need to find smaller targets !0

I am with you both, totally been eating like a pig the past 2 weeks and doing basic exercise - i am an all or nothing gal so I have been really bummed and heading towards depressed. I did my basic morning work out and as I was heading into the house to sit and eat stuff I shouldn't - I decided to hop on my bike - I ended up doing 12+ miles and came home feeling great and kept going all day - today I feel better than I have probably felt in a month - - find small challenges and make them happen then you will feel better and results will start happening!!! Good luck!0

I am also an "all or nothing" type person, and very much a perfectionist. I have been battling severe fibromyalgia, adrenal burnout, and hypothroid issues for almost 9 yrs now. I am finally getting better, but my tendancy is to think I have to go out and achieve GREAT things in the exercise world and be like I used to be. Well, I have recently realized that I have to accept that I am now 49, not 40 or 30, and I am weak from not doing much these last 9 years. So, I have had to accept the little goals that I am able to achieve, like walk for 15 min. around my land, or do 10 squats while washing dishes. A friend recently said to me that if I would just start little, then I would get stronger and be able to do a little more, etc. That really stuck with me and right after that is when I started here at MFP and was able to accept these little goals. Soooo, all that to say, just do a little at a time and keep moving forward because I've finally found that lots of times we just cannot achieve it "all," but we don't have to settle for "nothing" either. :-)0
