I'm doing a marine corps mud run next month and need to figure out my training to prepare for it. Any ideas would be appreciated. Water station, run
150ft low crawl uphill at 45o
150ft bear crawl backwards downhill at 45o
100ft low crawl uphill at 600
10 flutter kicks in the sand, run
Water station, run
10 push ups, run
10 side straddle hops, run

WoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooW! That looks intense!! No idea how to train for it as I've never done one, but I just wanted to thankyou for posting the obsticles as I've hear the term 'mud run', but never really knew what it involved.
Good luck :flowerforyou:0 -
I'm doing the DFW Jailbreak (5k) on Sept. 17th. I am running a 10k 3 times a week and doing P90x 3 days a week as well.0

I said to the hubs last night, "I really need to figure out the training, you can train with Steve and Cassie, but I have to work when you guys can train" (they all have jobs that they can train in the morning, actually I just called him and he's heading to the gym to meet up with them now). He said, "besides the 10 hours you spend at the gym a week" (he has a grossly over inflated idea regarding the time he thinks I spend at the gym). So I responded with "this is different and you know it, I mean how the hell are my knees going to handle the duck walks and frog leaps?" I just don't know how to prepare for this because I've never done one before and I definitely do not want to disappoint my team!0

Are you on facebook? Like these guys http://www.facebook.com/spartanrace they post WODs that will help you train. It's a good start to figure out what to do.
I'm doing the Spartan Race next summer here in Ottawa and will be using their WODs as well as the things I learned in bootcamp between now and then to get ready and train.0 -
